Four Senior Citizens Shot In Fla. Dunkin' Donuts |
|
| |
On the night before Thanksgiving 2008, four men wearing black masks and carrying guns burst into a Dunkin' Donuts location on Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach, Fla.
Delray Beach Police say on Wednesday, November 26, 2008, at around 10:20 p.m. the suspects stormed the donut shop armed with one shotgun and three hand guns.
Police say the men ordered the customers to the floor, then began stealing money from their wallets as they laid in fear.
One of the armed men then jumped the counter and grabbed cash from the register. Police say the gunmen were in the shop a total of 53 seconds, but it was enough time to hurt seriously wound the innocent patrons.
Police say before the robbers fled, they opened fire on the seniors, striking four of them.
One 84-year-old man was shot in the mouth. All of the victims are expected to recover, but their injuries will be life-changing.
The shooting spree didn’t stop there. Police say when the gunmen fled the Dunkin' Donuts and ran across the street, a person driving by flashed his high beams in an effort to not hit them.
Police say the man with the shotgun turned, pointed the gun at the front windshield and fired. The bullet struck the driver in the head.
He too will survive. |

Louis Deny, 24, was working the counter when the men ordered him onto the floor.
While one suspect held a shotgun to Louis's head, the three other men jumped the counter and stole the cash from the register.

Is There A Connection Between The Shootings? |
|
| |
Broward County Police have not confirmed that the 7-11 robbery in Pompano and the Dunkin' Donuts robbery in Tamarac are connected to the Delray Beach Dunkin' Donuts shooting.
Broward County Police and Delray Beach Police tell America's Most Wanted that they are working together to establish a connection between the cases.
They say there are similarities in all three cases, but it's too early to tell if it's the same four men.
In the three robberies, the men were described as wearing black hoodies and long black pants.
There are rewards being offered in all three of the robbery/shootings for information that leads to an arrest. |
