Cops: Mother Of Two Nearly Killed By Husband |

On October 9, 2008, police in the small town of Lemoore in California's Central Valley responded to a 9-1-1 call. Cops say a woman had been stabbed in a field, left to die, and that the perpetrator was nowhere to be found.
Officers soon learned that the suspect they were seeking was none other than the victim's husband, 36-year-old Jose Barazza Orellana. Lemoore P.D. said Orellana had fled the scene in a 2000 Toyota Tacoma 4X4 gray pickup. Investigators also discovered that Orellana took hostages in his escape: his own two children.
Authorities tell AMW that the kids, ages 7 and 3, were recovered the next afternoon at a relative's house in Hayward, Calif., about 200 miles north of Lemoore in the East Bay area. Orellana had also abandoned his getaway vehicle there, and the trail has since run cold.
Orellana's wife survived and, days after the attack, was reported by cops to be in stable condition.
Police say Orellana is armed and dangerous. He is a native of El Salvador; he may still be in California or headed to South America.
