Cops Seek Career Criminal For Multi-State Spree |
|
| |
It doesn't matter where you work: if you work in law enforcement, there's a good chance you know Rodney Compton. At just 24 years old, court records show Compton has amassed an impressive rap sheet.
He first ran afoul of the law in Pennsylvania in 2001, when he was arrested for a slew of charges, including Receiving Stolen Property and Possession of a Firearm without a License.
While in custody, Compton spent time in the State Hospital in Norristown, Pa., where he caught hospital employees and security officers off-guard, pulling a brass shank on them.
His prolific criminal history included a stint in Arkansas, where he was convicted of Burglary and other charges. In Kentucky, Compton was arrested for Assault.
In Missouri, Compton was slapped with four charges, ranging from Burglary to Tampering with a Motor Vehicle.
Authorities finally caught up to Compton, and he became a long-term guest of the state of Pennsylvania. But on August 10, 2008, Compton was a free man again, and authorities hoped he'd learned from his past mistakes. |

Nothing Changed After Prison, Cops Say |
|
| |
Law enforcement in the Midwest say they are finding out the hard way that Compton hasn't learned a thing.
Authorities say it appears that after merely two weeks out of prison, Compton was at it again.
Cops in rural Kimble County, Texas say by September 10, 2008, Compton was in their midst; by the time he'd fled the area, they say he'd committed seven burglaries.
In one incident, law enforcement caught Compton in the act, and they say the encounter led to a high-speed chase, ending with Compton wrecking the car he was driving before fleeing into the woods.
But Kimble County isn't the only jurisdiction now looking for Compton.
Since his release from prison, authorities in San Antonio want to talk to Compton about a home invasion robbery there where an elderly woman was tied up. In addition, investigators in Pittsburg, Kansas are investigating two burglaries and an auto theft case that may be Compton's doing. |

Compton Last Seen In Oklahoma |
|
| |
And if that's not enough, cops in Missouri have active Arson, Burglary and Auto Theft investigations that they say may lead back to Compton.
The trail for Compton has traversed state lines, but cops say it ends in Edmond, Okla. On September 13, 2008, a witness noticed Compton on the corner of 9th Street and Kelly Street in Edmond, but where he is now is anyone's guess.
Police say Compton may have acquired a 9mm handgun from the last Ford pickup he stole, and should be considered armed and dangerous. |
