  Case Story
Man Shot In His Own Front Yard
Louis Gustavo Lopez-Montero is wanted by South Carolina cops for shooting a man to death in his own front yard. Cops say Lopez-Montero followed Marko Lance Whitmeyer, 29, home on November 25, 2007 from an illegal liquor house where they played cards that night. Prior to the night of the shooting, cops say the two did not seem to know each other, and no one saw them fight or talk to each other. Marko pulled into his front yard, where he normally parked, and cops say Lopez-Montero walked up to the car and shot him through the door of his vehicle. When Marko’s family heard the gunshots and came outside, the killer was already gone, but cops say neighbors saw a white Cadillac leaving the area. Marko was found dead when cops arrived, lying beside his brown Impala.

Accused Killer With New Alias, Still On The Run
Cops identified the driver of the Cadillac as Ranger Alvizures, who was arrested in Wilmington, N.C. After the shooting, cops say Lopez-Montero and Alvizures drove to Lake Bowen, S.C., where they burned Lopez-Montero’s clothes and threw the gun in the lake. Divers found the weapon in 30 feet of 47-degree water near a major bridge. Raquel Beatriz Rivera, 22, was also arrested and charged with accessory after the fact. Cops say Rivera was Alvizures’ girlfriend and helped him hide from police. Lopez-Montero is still on the run. Cops are looking for him in the Myrtle Beach, S.C. area, but think he might have fled to New York. A tip also places him on the southern border of Texas. Lopez-Montero is originally from Panama and may have family there. Cops describe him as a "ladies man" and say he likes to hang around the local Latino rap scene, writing and performing. He may also have ties to the Latino rap community in Los Angeles, Calif. He has experience working in the construction business and may be using the alias "Jonathan Evans." Lopez-Montero has a North Carolina driver’s license in the name and the date of birth on the license is July 12, 1988. Marko left behind 5 daughters, his wife and six sisters.
