Police: Wanted Narcotics Dealer Back On The Streets |
|
| |
Cops in North Carolina say they are looking for a drug dealer who never seems to learn his lesson.
Police tell AMW that James Ricky Perry began dealing narcotics in the 1980s and used his automotive salvage and used car business as a front.
The scheme worked for a while, but on May 25, 1995, Perry was arrested and charged with importing marijuana and conspiracy to distribute the drug. He was convicted and sentenced to 144 days in federal prison.
But cops say it didn’t take long for Perry to return to his old ways after his release in 1999.
Cops in Nash and Bladen counties launched "Operation Break Through" in March 2003 to eliminate large-scale narcotics sales in eastern North Carolina. During their investigation, a familiar name came to light: James Ricky Perry.
They say Perry was back at it, and cops linked him to some of their key targets -- and suspected he was a key player as well.
Perry was indicted on cocaine charges soon after, including conspiracy to distribute more than 5 kilograms and possession with intent to distribute 500 hundred grams or more of cocaine.
But Perry went into hiding. Cops say he is most likely in eastern North Carolina, where friends and family may be helping him hide. He also has ties to eastern Virginia, and a Virginia driver’s license in the name "Roger Dale Bray."
He has a daughter in Wilson, N.C. and ties to the Virginia Beach area.
Perry was last seen in North Carolina when cops stopped him for street racing. They didn’t realize who they had, and days later, he vanished again.
He is known to drive a white Ford F150 pickup truck and has an unknown tattoo on his right shoulder.
