Cops Struggle In Desperate Search For Kidnapped Child |

Marple Township Police are anxiously searching for 3-year-old Arilys Leonard, who police say was abducted by her mother, Kandice Leonard.
On Dec. 6, 2007, cops say Kandice's live-in boyfriend walked into a nearby police station and reported that his girlfriend and her daughter were missing.
The man told police he arrived to find the door to his home ajar and all the lights on. When he entered he found that his girlfriend Kandice and her 3-year-old daughter, Arilys, were gone.
Family members say Kandice struggles with drug addiction, and in the months leading up to her disappearance, had expressed displeasure with having to share court-ordered custody of Arilys.
Court documents show that on Aug. 15, 2007, a judge in LeHigh, Pa. ordered Kandice and her mother, Marlene, to share legal and physical custody of Arilys.
As per the courts, neither Marlene nor Kandice, is allowed to relocate without written consent or a court order.
Police are concerned that Kandice has violated the custody agreement, and has taken off in light of the fact that she has several outstanding warrants in LeHigh County, Montgomery County, and Delaware County, Pa.
Marlene is afraid Kandice has returned to abusing drugs, which she fears puts her granddaughter in danger.
Kandice Leonard is described as a white female, 5"9" tall, weighing approximately 175 lbs. Leonard has hazel eyes and brown hair and has "Arilys" tattooed on her right upper arm.
