Police Continue Their Search For Runaway Texas Pedophile |

In April 1999, James Willis Brown sat in a Grayson County, Texas courtroom and listened as he was convicted of aggravated sexual assault against a child.
It seemed as though the young victim would finally find some justice with Brown's conviction, but it wasn't to be.
A judge temporarily released Brown from custody so he could take care of personal affairs, and Brown hasn't been seen since.
U.S. Marshals believe that right after he was released, Brown hitchhiked from Sherman, Texas to Memphis, Tenn., where he went to hide with his son. But when authorities arrived, they didn't find him because, according to Brown's son, Brown was hiding underneath the house.
Brown was charged with failure to appear for his sentencing hearing, but it didn't prevent the judge from sentencing him to life in prison in absentia.
