Cops Launch Manhunt For Fugitive Manassas, Va. Mother |

Police say Decareyonna Bryche Walker-Mays was kidnapped by her mother, Brittny Lashell Walker, on July 12, 2008. Cops say Walker showed up at Decareyonna's aunt's home and asked to take the little girl to lunch.
Later that night, relatives say Walker called and asked if she could keep Decareyonna until the next day. But when Walker didn't show up on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. as promised, relatives contacted police. |

On July 12, 2008, cops say Brittny Lashell Walker, along with her mother, Carla Oliver, arrived at a home where Decareyonna was spending the day.
After a brief conversation, cops say Walker walked out of the house hand-in-hand with her daughter, Decareyonna, to have lunch.
But cops believe Walker had already set her kidnapping plan in motion. Police say that when Walker telephoned relatives of Decareyonna to ask if the little girl could stay overnight, she was already on the road heading out of the city. Police believe she was heading back to the place where she had come from -- Rock Island, Ill. -- or heading to a place she knows well, Davenport, Iowa.
As their investigation into the kidnapping of 4-year-old Decareyonna got underway, police learned that for the last few years, Walker had been locked in a nasty custody fight with Decareyonna's father -- a battle she appeared to be losing.
Cops believe that under the guise of visitation, Walker had plotted to take her daughter. |

Virginia court records reveal that Walker has an extensive criminal history. In 2002, she was charged with armed robbery; but in a plea agreement reached with the prosecutor's office, the armed robbery charge was reduced to a lesser offense.
In 2004, Walker faced more charges, including assault and battery, and destruction of property. She was sentenced to serve time in jail.
Police believe Walker's recent stints in jail may have brought home a difficult reality: the reality of possibly losing complete custody of her daughter.
The stakes were raised when police learned that in 2006, Walker made an ominous threat: they say she threatened to kill herself and little Decareyonna if they were ever separated.
While police say no recent threat has been made, they are concerned for Decareyonna's safety.
Police issued a felony arrest warrant for Walker in the kidnapping of her daughter, Decareyonna, on July 17, 2008.
Walker is described as a black female, 5'6" tall, weighing approximately 165 lbs. Walker has black hair and brown eyes and may be hiding out in Rock Island, Ill. or Davenport, Iowa.
