Missing Mom's Body Found Near Railroad Tracks |
|
| |
Willie Dawson was collecting scrap metal along the railroad tracks in Canton, Miss. when he smelled something that had become all too familiar.
Willie worked to help victims of Hurricane Katrina, and he had come to know the smell of death when it circled the air.
Following his nose and his instincts, Willie walked over to a pile of debris, where he saw an outstretched arm.
Police believe the body had been decomposing for a month.
Authorities already had detailed information about a missing woman who wore similar clothing to those worn by the woman found by the railroad tracts.
Through a DNA analysis, Canton Police were able to determine the dead woman by the tracts to be missing Canton mom Dorothy Mae Robinson, who had disappeared on March 11, 2008. |

Cops: Robinson Disappearance "Unusual" |
|
| |
The last time anyone saw Dorothy alive was at her home, where friends and family say she prepared dinner that March evening.
As her two children lay asleep upstairs, cops say Dorothy may have left her home between 9 and 10 p.m.
Cops say it was highly unusual for Dorothy to leave her purse behind and her kids alone upstairs.
"She always made sure the kids were taken care of," says Canton Police Det. John Smith. "When she had to leave them with someone, she would always call and check in constantly."
Now, cops need your help to find Dorothy's killer. If you have any information about the murder of Dorothy Mae Robinson, call our hotline at 1-800-CRIME-TV. |
