Daughter Forced To Watch While Mom Gets Raped |

On the night of March 27, 2003, a mother and her daughter were awoken to the sound of a knock on the front door of their southeast Cleveland home. When the mother yelled down to see who it was, the voice on the other side yelled back the name "Jean."
After not hearing another word, she tried going back to sleep, but was soon startled by the sound of broken glass. Before she knew what was going on, a man she knew as Dorin Woods had broken into the house, along with another unidentified man.
According to the police report, Woods and the other intruder made their way upstairs and Woods told her that "he wants you", as he gestured to his partner. That man, who was presumably wearing a mask or some sort of facial disguise, then held both the woman and her four-year-old daughter down on the bed.
As the woman kicked and screamed, the unknown man grabbed her by the neck and told her to keep quiet.
While Woods waited outside the bedroom, cops say the other man proceeded to rape the mother while her daughter fought with him. Throughout the attack, she was kicking and screaming at him until Woods eventually re-entered the room and dragged the little girl out.
After the attack, the men quickly left the house and the female victim called 911. |

Cops Seek Public's Help After Positive DNA Match |

While Dorin Woods was quickly identified, arrested and sentenced to four years in prison, the other man has remained free since the night of that vile attack.
While DNA was taken from the rape victim's clothes and bed sheets, as well as a hat left behind by the attacker, there was no one to match it to.
Then, in August 2007, a member of the Bureau of Criminal Investigations contacted an officer working this vicious rape case and passed on some good news: the DNA matched up with convicted offender Willie Craig.
Prior to 2006, Craig had not been in trouble with the law. That all changed in February of that year when he was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon. Eight months later, he was arrested for receiving a stolen car and possessing criminal tools and was sentenced to probation. Then, in May 2007, Craig was arrested yet again for carrying a concealed weapon and was sent to jail for six months for violating his probation.
It was during that stint in prison that officials took Craig's DNA sample, which ultimately led to cops seeking him in connection to the rape case.
Although the DNA hit from the victim's possessions came back positive on Craig, he was initially not sought in connection with the rape -- because the cops could not track down the victim.
Then, in February 2008, just weeks after Craig was released from prison, she willingly came forward to police and stated she wanted to pursue prosecution.

Connections Lead Cops To Cleveland's East Side |

Since 2006, Craig has been convicted twice for carrying a concealed weapon, and has the prison time to prove it. Cops consider him to be armed and dangerous, though he's never actually used a weapon to their knowledge.
According to authorities, most of Craig's known connections are on Cleveland's east side and in southeastern suburbs. His brother is a convicted sex offender who also lives in that area.
Shortly after the warrant was issued for Craig, cops canvassed the side of town where his friends and family lived. While Craig's family did not provide much helpful information, people around town verified that Craig had recently been seen in the neighborhood.
Unfortunately, cops have yet to pinpoint his precise whereabouts and now they seek America's help to bring Willie Craig into custody. |
