Fugitive Wanted In Clairton Murder |

Pittsburgh cops are reaching out to the public for information on the whereabouts of James Garland Watts.
Police say on March 23, 2008, Watts knocked on the front door of his longtime friend David Lee's home. When Lee opened the door, Watts asked his friend about possible jobs in construction.
Cops say when Lee told Watts there were no jobs available, but that he would call him when something came up, Watts turned to leave the house. Cops say Watts then wheeled back around to his friend, clutching a gun in one hand.
Lee suddenly tumbled to the ground. Cops say Watts had fired one round at Lee, then demanded money from the wounded man.
Inside the home were Lee's wife and daughter. At the sound of gunfire, Shawnta Lee, David's wife, hustled their 5-year-old daughter into a bedroom to hide. Convinced her daughter was safe, Shawnta then scurried to a bathroom and barricaded herself inside.
Terrified, Shawnta hoped the gunman would grab what he wanted and disappear. But cops say Watts kicked in the bathroom door and shot Shawnta, at close range, in the chest, killing her.
Meanwhile, an injured Lee lay sprawled on the floor nursing a chest wound. Cops say somehow Lee gathered the strength to get to his feet.
Despite the intense pain, Lee was able to make his escape. As he stumbled down the street, investigators say Watts gave chase, mere steps behind the wounded man. Incredibly, Lee was able to reach the safety of a neighbor's home and call the police.
Watts is described as a black male, 5'6" tall and weighing about 165 lbs. Cops say he has a medium build and complexion, and he has a pierced left ear.
Police say Watts grew up in the city of Clairton and frequents the Hill District section of Pittsburgh. People who know him call him "Garland" or "Tooch."
Detectives say Watts is a known drug user and violent offender who should be considered dangerous.
