What Happened To Edward Lovato? |

On Feb. 9, 2006, authorities in Alaska were called to a car accident at mile 13.1 on Chena Hot Springs Road.
A car speeding beyond the 55 mph limit had crashed into a tree. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a smashed silver 2004 Toyota Avalon, and one of the passengers dead. The car and its driver reeked of alcohol. The driver, Edward Lovato, claimed that he was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol, but cops soon found that he was lying.
Police say that at the time of the crash that killed his wife, Elizabeth, Edward had a .175 BAC, traces of cannabis in his system, and both marijuana and methamphetamines in the vehicle.
Cops say that Edward was transported to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, and that he reported having no feeling from the chest down. Doctors believed that he would need spinal cord treatment.
While Lovato received medical treatment, police began the process of charging him. But when Lovato was discharged from the hospital, he simply disappeared, and hasn't been seen since.
Edward Lovato is of American Indian descent, stands approximately 5'7" tall, and weighed about 210 lbs. Police believe that he may be partially paralyzed and could be hiding out in New Mexico. |
