Cops: Rapist Kidnaps Ex At Knifepoint |

Police sources tell America's Most Wanted that Nathan Randall Pettigrew asked his ex-girlfriend to drive over and pick him up at a gas station -- but he ended up asking for a lot more when he pulled out a knife and tried to kidnap her.
Police in Raleigh, N.C. say Pettigrew, 28, ordered his ex to keep driving at knifepoint soon after being picked up on August 2, 2005. He quickly ripped out the rear-view mirror and threw her cell phone out the window.
Fearing for her life, she tried to jump out of the car. Authorities say Pettigrew chased her down and dragged her back screaming. She tried again to escape a few minutes later by pulling into a nearby convenience store parking lot when, police say, he began to slash her arm with his knife.
She made it into the store, where workers called the police. Cops say he likely ran off on foot, and hasn't been seen since. |

It wasn't Pettigrew's first encounter with the law. A month earlier, police in Youngsville, N.C., charged him with statutory rape and taking indecent liberties with a minor after he lured a young neighbor into his home.
Police say he has a particular fondness for strawberry blunt rolling papers; he is said to drink alcohol and smoke weed daily. He could be surviving by selling drugs. Cops also say Pettigrew has bad acne and may have grown a mustache. |
