Police: Extortionist May Have Fled U.S. |

Cops tell us that Murray Gordon Waller served as the Executive Director of the Alabama Safety Institute in Mobile from 2001 through 2006. Waller was in charge of the referral program that monitored young men who had placed on formal probation by the courts.
But agents say Waller made threats to a probationer who was under his supervision: the young man was ordered to perform sex acts for Waller, or face going back to jail.
Waller was arrested on March 31, 2006, and was released on bond. Agents say Waller did appear for his arraignment hearing in May 2006, but failed to appear for his status hearing in August 2006.
The Alabama Circuit Court of Mobile County issued a state arrest warrant for Waller on September 7, 2006, after Waller failed to appear on the extortion charges. On September 15, 2006, a federal warrant was issued for Waller arrest. Waller has been convicted of the extortion charges in absentia.
Agents believe that Waller may have fled to the Philippines, but he does have ties to the state of Texas. |
