Cops Called After Disgusting Discovery |

Before November 2007, Milford police only had known Dr. James Joseph Kelly II from the domestic violence calls at his residence. With one phone call, though, that all changed.
An anonymous tipster -- someone who was close to Dr. Kelly -- called police to tell them about a disgusting discovery. While using one of Kelly's computers, they had come across a cache of disturbing child pornography.
The images rocked the tipster so deeply that they called the cops in to look at the computer. On November 3, Milford, Mich. police executed a search warrant at the Kelly house, a home he shared with his children.
When police processed the computer, the images spoke for themselves and Michigan authorities filed charges against the doctor. |

Investigators: Kelly Bolts Before Arrest |

Cops think Kelly somehow knew a warrant was about to be issued, because they say they missed him by just hours on February 13, 2008.
Dr. Kelly worked as an anesthesiologist for several Michigan hospitals on a contractual basis. That week in February, Kelly happened to be employed in Sturgis, in the southern part of the state.
When Milford detectives received their warrants, they contacted Sturgis Police immediately. When Sturgis cops went to pick him up, Kelly was already gone.
Investigators tracked Kelly's movements to a hotel in nearby LaGrange County, Indiana but that is where the trail went cold. |

Milford police say Dr. Kelly is a man of means and has a lot of money at his disposal.
Cops are concerned this means Kelly could be anywhere and he might be set up with a computer again, downloading more child pornography.
Detectives say that Kelly has strong ties all over the state of Michigan. He also may be in Florida or Mexico.
Kelly, who is completely bald on top, is likely wearing glasses over his blue eyes. Family members told police that he suffers from eczema on his back and that it flares up when he is stressed out. Also, he has poor circulation in his legs.
They also add that Kelly is intelligent and quick-tempered. |
