My Story By Lynette Giles |
|
| |
My heart and the heart of a community have been ripped from their chests. I can't count on ten thousand hands how many times I've written and rewritten this letter so that the words can convey my pain. Words cannot express the hurt I feel for the loss of my daughter. I'm writing to ask for your assistance in finding her killer(s).
Police say Janae Quanique Giles was murdered on April 10, 2007. At approximately 9:36 PM, officers responded to a report of a shooting. Upon arrival at the scene, Janae was discovered Janae sitting in a vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was killed a mere 3 days before her 23rd birthday. The investigators told Janae's mother, Lynette, that it was a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
This just doesn't make any sense as Janae had a very promising life ahead of her. She was an inspiring spirit in the community, helping when and where she could with children less fortunate than herself.
As you can imagine, the days and months following her death have been more than difficult. We can't seem to understand how someone could do such a thing to such a promising young woman. Life will never be the same for any of us; we relive the experience every day.
I believe in my heart that the only way for her death to be resolved is to tell my daughter's story and bring national attention to her case. I know without a shadow of a doubt that her killers will brought to justice through "America's Most Wanted." Would you please help our community heal?
We need closure. Closure will begin the healing process we all long to have. "America's Most Wanted" has helped so many and I'm praying that you will help a community bring these monstrous criminals to justice. I know I can't bring her back, but I can, through your help, keep her memory alive in our community.
