A Father's Abuse |

November 8, 2007 should have been like any other day for the 12-year-old daughter of Greg Adrian. Her mom had already left for work and it was up to her father to get her to school. Police say that's when things went terribly wrong.
Authorities tell AMW that Adrian was upset with his only daughter for not being ready for school. The 12-year-old victim told police that Adrian grabbed her by the neck and pushed her out of her room and on to the living room sofa. Cops say she ran to call 911 but her enraged father grabbed the receiver and struck her with it several times. She was able to escape to a neighbor's house, but Adrian was right behind her and eventually diffused the situation before anyone could call authorities.
When Adrian dropped his daughter off at school, she immediately told a crossing guard about the attack. School authorities got involved and the girl disclosed to deputies that the abuse she had endured earlier that morning was not the first instance: she explained that her father had attempted to choke her on one other occasion as well. Even more horrific was the young victim's telling of a past sexual assault at the hand of her father.
She told police that months before, her father's temper had flared again and he physically assaulted her and digitally penetrated her. She screamed out, alerting her mother, but that night Adrian denied any wrongdoing and the family never reported the assault to police.
After Adrian's daughter finished disclosing to deputies, they discovered that Greg Adrian had a history with child sexual abuse. Adrian became a registered sex offender after a 1996 conviction that involved the molestation of his then 7-year-old niece. Prior to his arrest, Adrian had been on the run, but law enforcement eventually caught up to him after a vehicle pursuit. He ultimately served two years for his crimes. Cops didn't know that Adrian's past behavior of going on the lam was about to repeat itself.
Cops tell AMW that the neighbor that the Adrian's daughter ran to called the girl's mother at work. The mother in turn called Adrian to notify him that she knew what had happened. That's when cops believe that Adrian started making plans to skip town. |

Police believe that Greg Adrian knew that a visit from the long arm of the law was imminent so he began planning his escape. Police say he withdrew $4,000 from his computer repair business account and fled the area. He told his business partner that he'd never go back to jail. Adrian even sent a notarized power of attorney to his wife relinquishing all property and parental rights.
In another letter, Adrian wrote his wife saying that he might take his own life, but also stated that he would see her again one day. The postmark of the package was Las Vegas, Nev.
Authorities say that the fugitive father has family in Guam and the Philippines, where police believe he is currently. Adrian's gold 2001 Oldsmobile Silhouette mini-van with Calif. license #4PNK347 has not been recovered and may provide cops with valuable clues. A $1.15 million warrant has been issued for his arrest. |
