	Cops: Los Angeles Woman Exposes Serial Rapist
	In April 2006, police say 29-year-old Courtney Rosenberg was recuperating at Encino-Tarzana Regional Medical Center following stomach surgery when a male nursing assistant entered her room and told her that he was responsible for her medical care. Ramon Gaspar, 38, seemed nice, gentle and trustworthy, but cops say when he insisted on "checking" her stitches and lifted her gown to look at her vagina, Courtney began to feel uneasy with this medical "attention." Gaspar went on to tell Courtney that her panties were cute and that she was attractive. Throughout the duration of her stay, Gaspar "examined" the victim with his bare hands including sexually molesting her before she left the hospital. Courtney told AMW, "He went down without any gloves and started inspecting me and put his fingers inside of me... and then my mom walked in and, and stopped it." After Courtney was discharged from the hospital, she reported the incidents to police. At that time, Courtney did not know that she was exposing a serial rapist. When Los Angeles police detectives began investigating Courtney's claims, hospital officials were compelled to admit that two other patients had previously complained about Gaspar's unwanted sexual advances. A second victim filed a complaint with the hospital just two weeks after Courtney went to police. The victim was recovering from gall bladder surgery and she was still a bit groggy from the anesthesia when Gaspar refused to leave her hospital bathroom as she prepared to bathe. The victim told police that Gaspar later removed her robe against her will and insisted on bathing her. She said that Gaspar left only after she grew angry and demanded he leave.

	LAPD Seeks Rape Victims
	Police interviewed Gaspar twice and he confessed that he "failed his duties as a health care worker and instead let his manly desires and curiosities interfere with his professional duties." On a third visit with detectives, he signed a confession. Gaspar was charged with three counts of sexual battery and surrendered. Gaspar was arraigned and posted bail, but fled just two hours later with his wife and 3-year-old son. LAPD detectives had a hunch that there were more victims. In July 2006, LAPD officers made a public appeal calling for more victims to come forward. Within 24 hours, detectives say their voicemail boxes were flooded with messages from other women who claimed they were also sexually assaulted by Gaspar. To date, police have found ten victims. According to police reports, Gaspar's string of attacks goes as far back as 2004. AMW compiled the following information from police reports. In September 2004, Gaspar inappropriately hugged a colleague from behind, 37-year-old Shunta, and reached around her body to grab her breasts. Florence, a 63-year-old woman also filed a complaint against Gaspar with the hospital in January 2005 alleging that he groped her breasts and digitally penetrated her vagina while giving her a sponge bath. Florence told police that Gaspar had forced her out of bed and into the bathroom, and after telling her that he had to clean her genitals, he sexually assaulted her. Gaspar sexually assaulted 47-year-old Nancy in February 2005 as she recuperated following surgery. Gaspar used his ungloved hands and rubbed Nancy's genitals and pinched her breasts. In June 2005, 67-year-old Shirley was resting in her hospital bed following surgery when Gaspar reached under her gown and fondled her genitals with his bare hands, according to police. Sources say Marlis, 64, was heavily sedated following surgery and resting in her hospital bed when Gaspar, in November 2005, entered her room and placed his head between her thighs. He also rubbed and caressed her inner thighs. Also in 2005, authorities say Gaspar assaulted 59-year-old Janet. She was resting in her hospital bed when Gaspar entered her room and offered a backrub. While massaging Janet, Gaspar took advantage of the opportunity and grabbed Janet's breasts.In September 2005, 66-year-old Lynne was recuperating after surgery when Gaspar entered her room to clean-up after an accident at which time he used his hands and fondled Lynne's genitals. In April 2006, a groggy 37-year-old Stacey was recuperating from surgery when Gaspar insisted on taking her to the bathroom to bathe her. After disrobing Stacey, Gaspar began to wash her with a wet towel, but took advantage of his vulnerable victim. Stacey told AMW, "Gaspar was knelt down in front of me and he was massaging my genital area with his fingers and then I felt his finger enter my body and that is when I mustered up the strength that I could and said that is enough." Also in April 2006, police say Gaspar disrobed 44-year-old Anna without her permission as she prepared to shower. While Anna was bathing, Gaspar entered the bathroom and shampooed her hair. Other victims have also alleged Gaspar assaulted them, but have asked to remain anonymous. Det. Ninette Toosbuy, who is investigating the case, believes that there may be other victims. She told AMW, "What makes Gaspar especially dangerous is the fact that he is exceedingly charming, he's personable. He's articulate. He comes across as a very gentle, caring, nurturing man. So with those traits, he's able to gain the trust of patients and that leaves them especially vulnerable so he can go ahead and victimize them."

	Fugitive Rapist Turns To Family And Friends
	LAPD fugitive detectives spotted Gaspar at his mother's house outside Sacramento in October 2006. During the summer of 2007, Gaspar called his wife's friend seeking money. The friend told cops that Gaspar hinted he was in southern California and was available to meet to pick-up the money. Gaspar and his family are possibly in California or in the southwest. Cops say Gaspar is a licensed masseuse and could be abusing the trust of his customers for his cheap thrills.
