Dangerous Man On The Run |
|
| |
Cops say on Sunday October 28, 2007, at around 1:00 a.m. a calm 27-year-old David Sauceda walked out of the Bexar County Jail. The problem is, he was not supposed to.
According to authorities, Sauceda swapped identities with Michael Garcia, his cell mate. Garcia's bond had just been paid and when police went to get him, Sauceda pretended to be Garcia.
Cops say Sauceda is a member of the Mexican Mafia. |

Cops say that Sauceda is not traveling alone. They believe Sauceda's girlfriend, Angela Jaime, and her two kids are also with him. Cops are also calling a third woman, a person of interest. Her name hasn't been released yet. According to US Marshals in San Antonio, this woman is a friend of the couple and they believed she drove them south of San Antonio.
In fact, cops say that around 5:30 a.m. a Dilley, Texas police officer pulled over the car where the three of them were traveling. Cops say Sauceda used Michael Garcia's bond papers as his identification, but at that point nobody had noticed Sauceda was missing from jail, so the police officer issued a citation for the female driver for not having insurance and then let them go.
At the time, police were also led to believe that Sauceda was headed for Mexico. Detectives and U.S. Marshals never gave hope of finding Sauceda. In fact, the U.S. Marshals named him one of their top fugitives.
Finally, on Jan. 26, 2008, their vigilance paid-off and police found Sauceda hiding in Mexico. |
