Prescott Man Sought for Molesting 6-Year-Old |

In the summer of 2007, Chino Valley police say that a mother who was dealing with financial problems decided to save some money and move into her boyfriend's home in Prescott, Ariz. with her three children. Cops say that the family's new home was was also inhabited by eight male roommates. The mother's 2-year-old daughter, 6-year-old daughter, and 10-year-old son, made due in the clean yet cramped quarters for the duration of the summer until the father of the 6-year-old learned of their humble situation.
Police say the 6-year-old's father had a bad feeling about his daughter's household so he confronted the mother and decided to have the young girl move in with him. It was at this point that police say he noticed his daughter was having vaginal bleeding and discharge and decided to have the daughter checked out at a clinic. Chino police say they were called two weeks after the initial examination and an official report was made -- the 6-year-old child had contracted a sexually transmitted disease.
Chino cops investigated the situation and learned that the girl had been molested on three different occasions that summer. They say that the girl was only able to remember the suspect's nickname, "Borrego".
On September 20, 2007, the police acquired a search warrant for the house and returned to the crime scene in Prescott. They questioned the occupants of the home and found that Borrego's real name was Jose Rogelio Herrera-Martinez. They searched through his belongings and found fake documentation including a fake I.D. card, social security card, and a resident alien card. Cops also learned that the "roommates" were family members of the suspect and were not eager to share information of his whereabouts.
AMW and the Chino Police Department need your help in locating Jose Rogelio Herrera-Martinez, who has been on the run since September of 2007. He has been charged with child molestation, sexual conduct with a minor, child abuse, and forgery. Cops say that he works as a day laborer and enjoys fishing. Authorities believe that he could be residing in the Prescott area but also may have moved in with family in Mexico. |
