Cops: Father Flees Country With Family In Tow |

Father-of-four Jeff Spady probably shocked most of his friends in his hometown of Amboy, Wash. when he gathered his wife and kids and started his new life on the lam. Cops say on September 7, 2007, Spady, his wife Kim, and their four children left their home and have not returned since.
Authorities believe the reason behind Jeff Spady's sudden exodus was that he was about to be arrested on first, second, and third degree charges of child rape. Police tell AMW that 40-year-old Spady is suspected of raping a female family member over a period of many years. Clark County, Wash. cops say that they were about to put the cuffs on Spady when he was tipped off to the pending arrest. Originally, detectives thought that Spady may have used his survivalist skills to hide out in the woods, but they now say that Spady has headed for Canada.
At around 1 a.m. on September 8, 2007, authorities suspect that Jeff Spady paid a private party for a 19-foot 1986 Coachman travel trailer that was, in turn, probably hitched to Kim Spady's 2001 Ford Expedition. The Spadys then reportedly traveled into Canada from across the Idaho border at the Kingsgate crossing.
On September 15, 2007, Canadian authorities contacted Clark County Sheriff's Office to say that they had surveillance video of the Spady family crossing into Canada. When Canadian law enforcement reviewed the tape, they saw that Kim Spady's Ford Expedition was not pulling the travel trailer. Instead, cops say that the trailer was seen being pulled by an unknown vehicle five minutes prior to the Spadys. Law enforcement in both countries now believe that friends or family members of the Spady family are helping them stay one step ahead of the law. Clark County Sheriff's Office are reviewing the tape in hopes of identifying the unknown accomplices. Currently, there are no records of the Spady family re-entering the United States.
