  Case Story
Person Of Interest Wanted By Alaskan Authorities
In the weeks following Mindy Schloss' August 6th disappearance, local and federal authorities have sought to unearth as many clues as possible in the nurse's missing persons case.  Early on, police told AMW about a person-of-interest captured on a bank ATM camera in the days after Schloss went missing.  Now, the FBI says that they have named 27-year-old Joshua Alan Wade as a bank fraud suspect for his attempt to make withdrawals from Schloss' bank account.  Wade is described as a white male, approximately 5'10" to 6'1" tall, 180 lbs., with sandy colored hair and hazel eyes.  Cops tell AMW that he has multiple tattoos on his body, including one of a snake on his left hand between his thumb and forefinger.  Wade is currently classified as a person-of-interest in Mindy Schloss' disappearance, but is facing charges of bank fraud, fraud with an access device, and aggravated identity theft.  Authorities warn that he is believed to be armed and dangerous.

Search Underway For Missing Anchorage Woman
To those who know her, Mindy Schloss is a reliable, responsible person who never misses an appointment.  When she didn't show for an August 5th flight to Fairbanks, Alaska, people close to the 52-year-old began to worry. Mindy was scheduled to make one of her regular trips from Anchorage to Fairbanks to visit her parents.  Cops believe that the last time anyone saw the well-liked nurse was at her home in south Anchorage on August 3, 2007.  Anchorage police began to suspect foul play on August 9, 2007.  It was four days after Mindy was reported missing when they discovered her red, 2000 Acura Integra hatchback parked in an Alaskan Airlines cargo facility.  The remote, industrial area is not where passengers normally would park their vehicles, cops say.  Detectives scoured Mindy's car for clues and began asking the public for help in identifying anyone who was seen driving or dumping her car. Searchers also began looking at various wooded areas including a region where Mindy liked to pick berries.  The FBI brought one of their cadaver dog teams from Quantico, Virginia to assist in the searches.  In the weeks since her disappearance, authorities have been working up a few strong leads.  Cops began going through surveillance video and came upon a male "person-of-interest" who was caught on tape at an ATM machine in the Sand Lake area on the same weekend Mindy went missing.  Anchorage cops say that the man in question was wearing a dark blue or black bandana and a dark colored jacket.  He also appears to be wearing a backpack.  Cops have not verified if he tried to use Mindy's ATM card, but they have said that the card he tried to use was not his.  Anchorage police are asking anyone with information about the disappearance of Mindy Schloss or the male person-of-interest, to please send in your tips to www.amw.com or call 1-800-CRIME-TV.
