Cops: Restaurant Shooting Was A Targeted Hit |

In the early morning hours of August 9, 2007, cops say chaos erupted at a Vancouver late night eatery as two masked gunmen opened fire on diners. The fatal shootings occurred at around 4:30am at the Fortune Happiness Chinese restaurant. Vancouver police say that two people died at the scene and six others, one of whom remains in critical condition, were wounded and rushed to a nearby hospital. The extent of the injuries of the victims is not known, but police have said that there were fivw males and three females injured in the attack. All were of Asian descent. Cops have not released much information about the two armed, masked gunmen except to say that the incident looks like a targeted hit with possible gang or drug connections. At the scene, authorities say that the ground was littered with 9mm and .40 caliber shell casings. Police have taken in half a dozen witnesses for questioning and cordoned off the street around the eatery for part of the day. |
