Case Story |
|
| |
10 Days Of Uncertainty |
|
| |
The trial for Bobby Cutts began on Feb. 4, 2004. Prosecutors opened the trial of the former policeman by alleging he strangled a woman who was pregnant with his child, dumped her body, then lied to investigators as crews of thousands searched for her body.
Cutts' attorney, Fernando Mack, told the jury prosecutors did not have the evidence that he killed Davis and only hoped to enrage them enough to convict him of a murder charge.
The Ordeal Begins
The search for answers in North Canton, Ohio lasted for ten days. Jessie, 26, who was due to give birth on July 3rd to a baby girl she had already named Chloe, was reported missing on Friday, June 15th. She had not been heard from for two days.
Jessie's mother, Patty Porter, had become concerned and drove to Jessie's house on Friday, June 15th to check in on her. What she found at her daughter's home left her so alarmed that she immediately called the police.
Stark County Sheriff's deputies say the first thing she found was her 2-year-old grandson, seemingly alone and with a soiled diaper. They say the grandson told Patty that "Mommy broke a table. Mommy's in rug."
Cops say that Patty called them after not finding her daughter anywhere in the home. They say instead she found Jessie's bedroom in total disarray, the bed sheets and comforter missing. Her purse and car were left behind, but her cell phone had disappeared as well. Deputies say a container of bleach was on the floor in the bedroom. |

Was Suspect Looking For Dates After Killing Jessie? |
|
| |
Ten days after she went missing, Jessie's body and fetal remains were discovered at Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Summit County, Ohio on Saturday, June 23rd. The park is located 30 miles from Jessie's North Canton, Ohio residence.
According to AMW sources, Bobby Cutts Jr., Jessie's boyfriend and the father of her 2-year-old son, Blake, led law enforcement to the body. Cutts was arrested and charged with two counts of murder. Myisha Ferrell, a female friend of Cutts Jr., was also arrested in connection with the case. |
