Ratted Out By His Family |

In October 2005, police heard some startling allegations from convicted predator David Atwood's family. They found out Atwood was molesting a little girl, and they told police. Cops say that Atwood took a little girl to Wal-Mart to buy her a birthday present, but while they were in the car, Atwood allegedly molested this little girl. Atwood never thought this child would speak up, but she did. And now cops are on his tail again. |

A Twisted Past |

Springfield cops were very familiar with David Atwood, who has an especially sick and twisted past. Atwood served hard time for armed robbery in the 1980s. In September of 1996, this sicko was put in jail for repeatedly sexually assaulting a little boy over the course of a year.
In February 2005, Atwood was released on parole, but was put on an electronic home monitoring system. Apparently Atwood didn't learn his lesson: cops allege that it was just eight months after being released on parole that Atwood molested his next victim. |

Evading A Third Stint In Prison |

On October 27, 2005, investigators approached Atwood to interview him about the little girl's allegations. But Atwood refused to answer any questions. Not long afterwards, Atwood cut off his monitoring ankle bracelet, and fled the Springfield area. He's now considered one of the Illinois Department of Corrections' 10 Most Wanted, and cops are eager to track him down and put him back behind bars. |
