  Case Story
  Love Affair Ends In Hatred
On October 4, 2005 the body of 32-year-old Hermilia Hernandez was found in South Padre Island. She had been shot in the head.  But finding the main suspect in her tragic and senseless death wouldn't be a hard task. Investigators found out that 39-year-old Amit Livingston and Hermilia Hernandez met each other through the internet around June 2005 and soon after started a relationship. But three months later, Hermilia tried to get out of it. She didn't know that Livingston wouldn't be able to handle a break up and that his dark side would surface.  Cops say on September 20, 2005 Livingston bought a gun and, 10 days later, he used it to kill Hermilia by shooting her in the back of the head.

  Killer Takes Off
The manhunt for Livingston ended on October 18, 2005 when he was arrested at the Nueces County Sheriff's Office and then transferred to the Cameron County jail. After almost two years, on February 13, 2007, Amit Livingston pleaded guilty to Hermilia's murder and was sentenced to 23 years in prison. However, a judge gave him 60 days of freedom to get his "affairs in order." But Livingston extended that period and took off for good. Cops say Livingston has received helped from family members in Chicago. But he has connections all over the country, from Baltimore, Md. to Honolulu, HI. Livingston is very smart and cops believe he's worked doing medical transcriptions. He loves computers and may be surfing the web on a regular basis. No matter where he is, the Texas Rangers in Brownsville, the US Marshals and investigators in Cameron County are still working together and committed to finding him again and put him behind bars.
