Women Disappear From Shopping Trip |

Friends Mary Ellen Walters and Ada Wasson set out for a shopping trip on April 19, 2007, but police say they never made it to their destination. Walters and Wasson left the Patio Homes area of the Otterbein Retirement Living Community in Lebanon, Ohio on a routine shopping trip. Neighbors say they didn't mention anything out of the ordinary and of more concern, Walters' didn't ask anyone to feed her dog, indicating that she thought she would be home the same day. When Walter's daughter went to pick her Mom up three days later, no one was home and Walter's and Wasson's neighbors were concerned.
Police know that the women liked to shop at outlet malls in Columbus, Ohio and Carrollton, Ky but credit cards records show that the women didn't do any shopping on the 19th. Police say the search is one of the largest they have ever conducted because of the large tri-state area between Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. The women also preferred driving on scenic roads rather than the interstate which has complicated the search.
Wasson and Walters were driving in a silver 2000 Chevrolet Impala with four doors. The car has an Ohio license plate DG30LC. |
