Franctic Phone Call To Police |
|
| |
Mother, Mandy Wright, called police on Wednesday, April 25, 2007, to report her three-year-old child missing. Mandy claims she went to use the bathroom and left her daughter Alexandria unattended for only a minute. When she returned, Mandy says Alexandria had left the spot where she was playing.
Mandy told police she spent a half hour calling out for Alexandria inside the house. Afterwards, she bundled up her one-year-old and went outside to look for her when she noticed the sliding glass door was open.
When Mandy claims she got closer to the river, about 40 yards away from the home, she found one of Alexandria's pink boots. When police heard the news they feared the worst may have happened to this poor little girl. |

Fast Movin Current May Have Taken Child |
|
| |
Searchers spent days combing through the Aroostook River where police believe Alexadria may be found. So far, nothing has turned up except Alexandria's pink boots found in two different spots along the riverbank.
Investigators say the rainy weather has made the water murky and harder on the search team. Thankfully, in the past couple days, conditions have begun to improve. The water level has dropped three feet making it easier for searchers to wade through the quick-moving river.
Although, police are saying it is likely that Alexandria was swept away from the fast moving current they are not giving up hope that she is still alive. |

Mother Faces Intense Scrutiny |
|
| |
Authorities feel there are a number of reasons that Alexandria could have gone missing. One of them being child neglect. Alexandria's mother, Mandy Wright, has been under intense scrutiny from police after an incident that occured a month prior to Alexandria's dissapearance. Police say they found Alexandria wandering around a busy roadway with her dog.
Maine child welfare workers have taken Mandy's one-year-old child away this week. Her five-year-old daughter, Whitney, was placed in her father's home who now has custody of the child.
After having two children taken away, Mandy still waits to hear any news about Alexandria. |
