One Day In November |

On November 24, 2004, a woman living in Hialeah, Florida learned her 14-year-old daughter told school counselors that she'd been molested by a neighbor. That neighbor was also the woman's cousin, Ricardo Olmedo.
Furious, she went to Olmedo's apartment and questioned her cousin-in-law, Olmedo's wife. She was equally distressed over the allegations. She knew that if they were true, it would mean she had put her son's life in danger by marrying a child predator.
When Olmedo's wife asked her son if he knew anything about the accusations, he broke down. Olmedo's stepson sobbed as he confessed that Olmedo had been sexually abusing him for almost three years. According to police, the 13-year-old boy said he'd been molested and raped by his stepfather.
When Olmedo learned about the children's confessions, he went to stay with his mother, who was unaware of the allegations. But, when his wife called to tell him she was notifying the police, Olmedo packed his bags and abruptly left his mother's home in his red '95 Pathfinder. Police found the car a little while later, but Olmedo vanished. |

Since he's gone on the run, police learned Olmedo may have other victims. They think he is a dangerous sexual predator after young children.
According to investigators, Olmedo is a Cuban immigrant and doesn't speak much English. They believe he might be using another identity, since he went on the run without his passport, license, or identification of any type. Police think he could be anywhere, but say he has ties to Florida and Cuba.
According to those who knew him, Olmedo is a loud mouth who has bad road rage and is very picky with his food. He's known to smoke Marlboro Lights, use cocaine, and drink beer. Police say Olmedo has worked as a mechanic, handyman, and tow truck driver. He enjoys partying and going to the beach, despite the fact that he's known to have an large beer gut. |
