Woman Turns The Tables On Attacker |

On April 30, 2006, Ricardo Solis-Montenegro headed to his girlfriend's house in Foster City...only she wasn't home when he got there. Frustrated, cops say Montenegro went to a nearby jogging trail and laid in wait for a female to cross his path. Eventually, in the distance he spotted a 33-year-old woman who was out rollerblading. Within moments, police say he clotheslined the woman and tackled her to the ground, chipping her tooth in the process. Police believe that's when Montenegro made it known to his victim that he was going to rape her.
In a savvy move, the woman played along with Montenegro -- complimenting him and telling him he could do anything he wanted if she could just remove her rollerblades. When he allowed her to do so, she took off the rollerblades and ran to a nearby apartment, screaming for help. Unfortunately, Montenegro got away, but not before being spotted by residents nearby.
Cops say Montenegro is an illegal immigrant from Nicaragua and speaks fluent English. He has used several aliases and was believed toin the San Francisco area in the months after the attack. Cops say that he looks very much like his brother, Victor Solis, and has used that identity to stay one step ahead of the law. When Solis-Montenegro was ultimately nabbed in Berkeley, Calif., he tried to use his brother's ID to elude capture. Luckily, cops didn't fall for it and the sexual assault suspect with the lengthy rap sheet remains behind bars. |
