Cops:
Kidnapping Mom May Also Be A Killer |

Police in southern California and Nevada have issued an AMBER Alert for a mother and her 4-year-old son after reports came in on March 18, 2007 that a woman had killed a family member and kidnapped a boy.
Cops believed that 22-year-old Vanessa Ochoa went to the Altadena, Calif. residence of her son's paternal uncle at around 1:25 pm on March 18 and shot and killed the 32-year-old man. That's when authorities believe Ochoa kidnapped her son, Manaen Miles, whom she does not have legal custody of. Police say that Ochoa then fled the area in a silver Mitsubishi Diamante.
Police now have new information that Ochoa was aided by a friend, 25-year-old Mesha Arshaz Dean. Currently, cops are unsure if Dean or Ochoa killed Manaen's uncle. However, they do believe that the pair planned out the killing and the kidnapping and that their getaway car is currently stocked with supplies to keep the bad girls on the run. Law enforcement officials in California and Nevada believe that the boy is in grave danger.
Authorities tell AMW that Vanessa Ochoa has suffered from mental health issues and was in an argument with Manaen's father over welfare money.
On March 18, Manaen's uncle died at a nearby hospital from gunshot wounds to the torso. Family members told police that they are shocked due to the fact that Ochoa had liberal visitation privileges and never spoke of being unhappy with the custodial arrangements.
Cops say that the location were the uncle was shot was also the residence of the Manaen's grandparents and that the boy's father had recently moved back into the home. At the time of the shooting, police say that there was another family member in the house, but authorities have not identified that person.
Authorities describe 4-year-old Manean as black, 3 feet tall, 50 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes. Vanessa Ochoa is only described as Latina, 5 feet tall, 125 lbs, and having long dark hair. Mesha Arshaz Dean
