Building A Circle Of Trust |

When David Allen Andrews arrived in Flint, Mich., his new neighbors and co-workers had no idea what kind of guy he really was. He was able to convince the people he encountered that he was a good guy, somebody deserving of their trust.
But, according to police, Andrews was anything but trustworthy. He would use his charm and manipulative personality to get close to a family with young children. Once this family had opened up to him, he would arrange to spend time alone with the children. Cops say he would volunteer to babysit when the parents were busy, or just have the kids over to his apartment for 'playtime.' |

A Trust Betrayed |

Once Andrews had gained enough trust to be allowed to spend time alone with these young children, the problems really began. He would take the kids to his apartment, where they would spend time watching movies and playing video games. Unfortunately, according to police, these visits quite often progressed beyond their innocent facade.
Family members, and then police, were finally tipped off to the despicable actions of this man by a 7-year-old boy in September 2004. According to statements made by this young boy, and collaborating statements by a 10-year-old girl, Andrews had been sexually assaulting the children over a period of several months. |

His Disappearing Act |

In addition to engaging in various sexual acts with each of these young children, Andrews also took pornographic pictures of the kids, which he kept in plain sight in his apartment.
When Andrews was confronted by police in his apartment, he revealed to them that he frequently visited pornographic websites on his computer. In addition to evidence of all the websites Andrews frequented, numerous photographs of his female victim were also found on his computer.
Andrews was taken to the Genesee County Jail in Flint, Mich., but had to be released before enough evidence could be gathered to obtain a search warrant. Andrews disappeared immediately after his release, and has not been seen since. A little over a week after he was released, a two-count warrant was issued for Andrews. Unfortunately, cops have had very few leads to follow up since 2004, when Andrews vanished. |
