A Seemingly Happy Family |

On February 9, 2007, Tara Lynn Grant returned to her Washington Township, Mich. home from a business trip in Puerto Rico. Tara, Stephen and their two children, ages 4 and 6, have been getting used to Tara's busy work schedule. Since January 2007, Tara, an operations manager for an engineering and construction firm, has been working in her company's Puerto Rico offices. Tara had been working five days in Puerto Rico and then returning to her Michigan home on the weekends. Everything was on schedule the weekend of February 9, 2007 until Tara and Stephen got into an argument. |

Cops: A Deadly Argument |

According to police, Tara and Stephen got into an argument the night of February 9, 2007. Stephen reported to the police that Tara left the house wearing an overcoat and carrying her suitcase and a laptop. Stephen also told police that he thought Tara got into a dark-colored sedan and drove away.
Even though Stephen Grant said he last saw and spoke with his wife on the night of February 9, 2007, police say he didn't report her missing until February 14, 2007 when she failed to attend a business meeting in Puerto Rico. Grant told police that he thought his wife hadn't contacted him because of the argument they had had and didn't begin to worry until Tara failed to show up for her meeting. |

On March 3, 2007, after discovering the torso believed to belong to Tara in the garage, and other assorted body parts in northern Macombe County, police are on a manhunt to find Stephen Grant. They believe he is traveling in a 2006 yellow Dodge Dakota truck, and is unstable and suicidal. |
