A Senseless Shooting |

People in the community of Highland, California and local law enforcement can't make sense of a tragic killing that happened in their town on January 24, 2007.
Shortly after 5pm, three men, one identified as reputed Northside Redlands gang member Jason Xavier "Luckie" Gonzales, reportedly arrived at the residence of Rhonda Santellanez. The home belonged to Rhonda's boyfriend's mother but Rhonda had just moved into the home with her boyfriend and their 18-month-old son.
Cops believe that no one present that day knew Gonzales, but Rhonda's boyfriend did know one of the other two men who accompanied him. Police tell AMW that the group were socializing at the house for a short period of time when Gonzales walked to the back of the house were Rhonda was.
A shot rang out from the back bedroom and authorities say that "Luckie" rushed to the front of the house saying that he would kill anyone who tried to call the police. As Gonzales left the residence with his two friends, Rhonda was rushed to a nearby hospital where she died from a gunshot wound to the upper body.
Currently, cops say that the manhunt is underway for Jason Xavier "Luckie" Gonzales and he should be considered armed and dangerous. |
