Police Hunt Accused Rapist |
|
| |
On August 28, 2006, police in Newport News, Va. received a desperate 9-1-1 call. An 18-year-old girl was calling to report she'd been abducted, beaten and raped. Authorities didn't have to look far for the alleged rapist -- the girl told them it was her stepfather, Willie Sanders, who had violated her.
Sanders' stepdaughter told police she'd been arguing with him when he attacked her and started choking her. Cops say she lost consciousness -- and when she woke up, Sanders had tied a belt around her neck and was raping her. |

Cops: Sanders Steals Truck, Flees |
|
| |
Cops say Sanders raped the young woman repeatedly, then went to the bathroom. According to police, his victim saw the opportunity to get away, so she grabbed a towel and ran outside to a neighbor's house to call the police.
Once Sanders realized his step-daughter had fled, cops say the accused rapist drove to work, stole a truck, and fled from Newport News. Police say the truck was recovered several weeks later in Richmond, Va., but Sanders was nowhere to be found. |
