A Housekeeper Off To The Big House |

Brandy Michelle Poole was employed as a housekeeper at the Carolina Inn and Suites in Spartanburg, S.C. in 2006. Police say that hotel was the setting for a crime in which Poole quickly became an accessory after the fact.
On February 26, 2006, a 79-year-old man was beaten with a hammer while staying at the Carolina Inn and Suites. Poole's boyfriend, Christopher Bennett, is the alleged assailant in this attack, and according to police, Poole helped him escape afterwards. Cops say Bennett hit the man in the head with a hammer, then took off with a few items from the room.
The two took off together, but police say Poole ended up being both of their downfalls, when Baton Rouge police picked her up on a warrant for accessory to larceny. Christopher Bennett was with her, but he gave the name of her former boyfriend, and Baton Rouge police let him go.
When the Louisiana officers found out from Spartanburg, South Carolina police that Brandy may have been traveling with a suspected attempted murderer, they soon found Christopher Bennett again and arrested him. US Marshals say deputies had already been looking in the Baton Rouge area, because the couple's car was towed there in April. |

Since the pair of troublemakers went on the run, they have become suspects in more crimes. In addition to their alleged involvement in the hotel attack, Poole and her boyfriend are now charged in a murder case.
Police have charged Bennett with murder in the beath death of 81-year-old David Dunagin in Spartanburg, S.C. on Feb. 26, 2006, and Poole is charged with accessory after the fact to a felony. |
