Lovers Torn Apart By Tragedy |
|

Friends and family say that Jason Nam loved two things -- his high school sweetheart and fiance Sandra Pratt and his car. On March 10, 2006, Nam was washing his Lexus in his apartment carport. Moments later, three men entered the parking lot in a black 4-door Nissan Maxima and drove up to Jason's car. The men got out of their car -- one was holding a baseball bat.
The men exchanged words before one of the assailants pulled out a gun and, without warning, shot Jason Nam. The three men fled in their vehicle, but not before a neighbor got a partial view of the suspects. Darwyn Ellis tells AMW "Jason was just minding his business, shining his car...a little while later, I head a gunshot." While Ellis was unable to provide detailed descriptions of Nam's attackers, he did say that they had bandanas, eyeglasses, and hats.
Six hours later, police found the Maxima engulfed in flames on the other side of the island. Nam's attackers were no where to be seen and cops say there have been few leads since the crime took place. While Honolulu police don't have clear suspect descriptions, investigators believe that the three men have a special or close bond of some sort.
Those close to Jason Nam speak of his universal appeal and fun-loving nature. Nam was a manager at a local juice company and a physical trainer at night and was in local bodybuilding tournaments. Cops believe that Nam had no known enemies.
Authorities in Hawaii are asking for the public's assistance with information leading to the arrest of Jason Nam's killers or accomplices. |
