Mom Could Be With Missing Twins |
|
| |
North Carolina cops believe Allison Lee Quets may have taken the children out of state in what was initially described to Durham police as "a child-custody dispute." Quets is the biological mother of the twins and has visitation rights.
Cops say Quets picked up the twins December 22 for the weekend. Investigators say the adoptive parents -- Denise and Kevin Needham --reported the twins missing shortly after Quets, did not return the children at the court appointed time on Christmas Eve.

FBI Joins Search for Missing Twins |
|
| |
The FBI has joined the investigation, assisting Durham police. Investigators say the three might have headed toward Kentucky, where Quets' ailing mother lives in Louisville, or Quets' former home state of Florida.
Quets, 49, who moved from Orlando, Fla., to Durham this year, was apparently trying to regain custody by appealing the adoption. The twins may be in a white Plymouth van with North Carolina plates LRJ-6644 or Florida plates E377HZ. |
