Police Uncover Mom's Secret Online Life |

Days after the bodies of Melody Dang and her two sons were found in their Oregon home, investigators have new leads in the triple murder case. On November 7, 2006, police announced that they were now focusing on Dang's online life, specifically a number of chat rooms and internet sites that she kept hidden from her sons and her live-in boyfriend.
Detectives say that forensic investigators are currently trying to determine which chat rooms and sites that Dang frequented based on other computers in the home. Notably missing from the residence is Dang's Toshiba M-45 laptop which authorities believe may have been taken by the killer to cover his tracks. Furthermore, police allege that Dang had online relationships with men in Florida, Wisconsin, Texas, New York and possibly other states.
Police maintain that the gunman was known to the family and that he was let in through an unlocked door sometime between 9 and 11 pm. Cops also say that the person responsible for the murders knew how to skillfully handle a gun and described the incident as a "blitz attack"...meaning the killer got in and got out quickly. |

The murders of a mother and her two sons have stunned the suburban community of Bethany, Oregon. Police got a call from 37-year-old Mike Ngyuen in the early morning hours of November 3, 2006. Nguyen had just arrived home from working his night shift when he discovered the bodies of his longtime girlfriend, Melody Dang, and her two sons.
Detectives found the remains of 37-year-old Melody Dang, 16-year-old Steven Dang and his 12-year-old brother, Jimmy, in a small hallway in the family's single family home. All three were killed by gunshot wounds and were found dressed in their street clothes.
Police say that there was no sign of forced entry but would not comment about signs of struggle. Cops do believe that the family was gunned down by someone they knew and said that Nguyen was not a suspect. Detectives report that Nguyen was the last person to see the family alive before he left for work on November 2 between 5:30 and 6pm. The killings are though to have occurred sometime later that evening.
Currently, police are trying to locate Stephen's biological father. Cops have told America's Most Wanted that Nguyen is actually the father of Jimmy Dang and they believe that identifying and locating Stephen's father could break the case wide open. Police have also commented that finding the murder weapon is another top priority.
Grieving friends have been leaving messages of love and rememberances on the two brothers' MySpace homepages. The last MySpace postings on Jimmy and Steven's home pages on November 2 were at 5:25 pm and 8:16 pm, respectively. |
