Cops Say Runaway Dupes Babysitter |

Felisha Slater was on her way to drop off her four month-old infant daughter Mekai Brown at her roommate's aunt's house. She had to get to her job at McDonald's, and the roommate's aunt usually babysat Mekai.
On the way, cops say a neighborhood teen insisted on following along with Slater. After they dropped off Mekai, the teen followed Slater to work, where she demanded free food. She hung around, and later that afternoon accompanied Slater back to the babysitter's house to check on Mekai. She left soon afterwards.
Slater finished her shift around 5:00 PM and went back to pick up Mekai. Cops say the babysitter told her that she had "already been picked up." When Slater asked by whom, the baby sitter told her, "Oh, by that girl you were with. She said she had your permission."
Cops say the fifteen year-old abductor ran away from her Plantation home on October 12, and went by the nickname "T."
Mekai Brown was last seen wearing a yellow dress with a flower on it. She is black, 26 inches tall and weighs 14 pounds.
The teen's family says that she suffered from bipolar disorder and needs daily medication. Cops say she's scruffy, and was last seen wearing blue pants and a sleeveless tan shirt. |
