Case Story |

From Normal To Deadly |
|
| |
On March 23, 2006, surveillance cameras in a Newark, N.J. liquor store became silent witnesses to a deadly crime.
That night, 29-year-old Ramon Lopez was behind the counter serving customers. It seemed to be a normal night -- until the clock struck 9:27 p.m.
Cops say that's when two thugs walked into the liquor store wearing masks. One of them was carrying a Mac-11 and pointed it at the customers in the store.
The frightened customers backed up against some coolers while the other thug went straight for Ramon and the register. The robber grabbed Ramon's arm, but Ramon pulled the robber over the counter and fought back.
Cops say Ramon didn't even see the other suspect point the Mac-11 at him from behind and fire a shot at point-blank range. Ramon was killed right there in the store.
Now, cops are hoping certain clues they gathered from the surveillance video will help identify the men responsible for Ramon's vicious murder. |

Surveillance Video Reveals Clues |
|
| |
In the video, cops froze the shot where the second crook grabs Ramon's arm to drag him over the counter, and saw that he was wearing white work gloves with a red rubber gripping material on the palms. A closer look revealed both suspects were wearing the gloves.
Although it's a small clue, police are hoping this information, combined with the surveillance images, will be enough for someone to recognize the two men who robbed Ramon Lopez of his life. |
