  Case Story
  Billboards Highlight Escapee
David Green is staring down at Cleveland and Tennessee motorists.  AMW, the Outdoor Advertisers of America Association and Lamar Advertising are working jointly with Clear Channel to beam "Daddy Dave" Green through their digital billboard systems. The investigation is heating up because of the billboards.  Police are sifting through leads and new information.  Deputy U.S. Marshals have uncovered new pictures of the fugitive that have never before been publicized.  They've also found out that the convicted drug kingpin could be traveling in Georgia and Tennessee.  Green once lived in Georgia, has he returned to his roots?    A Kingpin Rules By Terror Ohio police say David Green was notorious in Cleveland, OH as the kingpin of a major narcotics organization during the late 1980's and early 1990's. Green distributed millions of dollars worth of cocaine into the west side of the city. Followers in his organization say they came to know him as the "General' of his army, who ruled with intimidation. They say no one ever dared to ask questions. Authorities say Green used the same scare tactics with his family. Green married four times and had six children. On family vacations he would use his wife and kids as a cover up to traffic narcotics throughout the country. They say he would drive a station wagon and store cocaine in the children's cereal boxes. Green was reportedly so heartless that police say he once woke his kids up with a stun gun.

Sufficient Evidence Leads To A Conviction
In 1991 law enforcements officials finally had enough evidence against Green to make a case. They raided his home in Georgia and found high powered rifles, automatic weapons, and drug paraphernalia. Green was tried and convicted to 19.5 years in prison. Over a period of eight years in jail, cops say Green manipulated the system.  Investigators say he accumulated certificates from his prison shop class and repeatedly got positive marks for good behavior.  Authorities say it was all a ruse, and that Green used the certificates and reputation to get himself moved in to a minimum security facility in Elkton, Ohio. Then, police say a fellow inmate escaped from the correction center, which gave Green the inspiration to do the same. On June 19, 2000, Green allegedly escaped from the Federal Correctional Institution Camp by just walking out of the premises. A week later, officials closed the facility for good.
