Online Relationship Becomes Horrible Reality |

What was supposed to be a new start for a mother of two became one of her worst nightmares. Cops in Ft. Worth, Texas say Robert Trent Burkey met her on the Internet. A few months later she moved in with him and his 6-year-old son.
She brought her two young daughters along.
But after a few months one of the girls revealed something awful to her mother-- she said Burkey had touched her inappropriately on several occasions.
Around June 2002, Burkey was arrested for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. But a further investigation brought to light more of Burkey's sick ways. In December of the same year, cops found Child Pornography in his computer. |

Cops: Burkey Skipped Town Before His Trial |

It was June 2003 and Burkey's trial was getting closer. At that time Burkey was working as a chemist and had just gotten a payout on his deceased wife's life insurance policy. Cops believe that's when he decided to disappear. According to investigators, Burkey sent letters to his employer and to his family saying that he couldn't face the charges and that he was leaving so nobody could find him.
Burkey hasn't been seen in three years and cops are searching for him from Texas to North Carolina. |
