Impatient Robbery |
|
| |
On June 20, 2006, a bank was robbed in Kentucky. Police hope it's the robbery that will lead to the capture of alleged serial robber Warren Lee Back. This robbery represents the eighth time Back's name has come up in connection with a Midwest bank robbery. But police can only confirm Back's involvement in one of those: an Ohio robbery that happened less than one year ago.
In the late afternoon of October 28, 2005, Back stormed into a US Bank in Cincinnati in a traditional robber get-up with a mask and a silver handgun in tow. Police say with the help of two accomplices, Back held the employees and customers hostage.
Witnesses say Back approached a female employee and demanded that the teller open the vault. But, the teller did not have access to the vault's lock, which frustrated Back. In a hasty move, police say Back and his accomplices instead grabbed handfuls of money from the teller's drawer and stuffed it in a bag.
After all of their efforts had yielded little reward, police say Back and his accomplices were about to jump in their vehicle and escape unharmed when police were notified of the robbery. |

With money bags in hand, Back and his accomplices allegedly sped off with police close by and sirens blasting. After police closed in on their car, all three suspects jumped out and started running on foot. Police officers then caught up to Back and friends and got them in cuffs.
Police say this scenario is all too familiar for Back, who they believe has a lengthy history of stealing from banks and check/cash stores.

Police say Back is wanted for questioning in connection with robberies in the Cincinnati area and check cashing stores in New Albany, Indiana, and Columbus and Dayton, Ohio.
Back is also wanted for failing to appear to court on charges of aggravated robbery, weapons under disability, and failure to obey the order of a police officer, which all relate the October robbery.
The search continues for Back. Police believe he may be traveling with his wife, Sarah Back, who police say is not a fugitive. A noticeable tattoo on Back's abdomen is stamped "Caucasian Kingpin."
According to authorities, Back is armed and dangerous. |
