My Story -- By Candace Brannon |
|
| |
Andra was the type of person that would give you the shirt off of his back if you wanted it. He was always taking care of his friends and his family (especially me). I was so used to him being there for me that even at the crime scene I was like, "I need to call Andra so he can pay for the funeral." I guess I hadn't realized that it was Andra that we were burying.
Candace Brannon is one of 16 children, but she always had a close tie to her brother Frederick Rosemond, know as "Andra" by his family and friends. The two of them were together often, doing everything from clubbing and going to the mall, to just hanging out with Andra's best friend Douglas"Rah-ja" Louris. When he wasn't visiting with his family and friends, Andra could be found fixing up cars and travelling.
This all changed the afternoon of November 19, 2003 when Andra and Rah-ja were found shot to death in their Greenville, South Carolina home. |

A Family Member Makes A Shocking Discovery |
|
| |
On November 19, police received a call from Andra's nephew. He had come home to find Rah-ja dead on the couch. He had been shot in the head and chest. Andra was also found in a bedroom shot in the back of the head.
Police say the two men were killed either the night of November 18, or very early on November 19. Inv. Mike McNamara of the Greenville County Sheriff's Office said the two men had "more enemies than a typical person." From the locations of the wounds, he believes they were shot with the intention to kill immediately. He said it is also likely Andra and Rah-ja knew their killers, but mentioned police do not currently have any suspects. |

Lives Turned Around...And Cut Short |
|
| |
At one point in Andra's life, he was getting in and out of trouble, but all of that changed when he had kids. He said that it was time for him to be a role model for his kids.
We all make mistakes, but the year before they were murdered, Andra really had changed his life around. He even went around and made all of his "wrongs" "right." Everyone that he had ever did anything to, he went and asked them for forgiveness. At one point in time, my brother was into a lot of stuff, but one thing that I know for certain is that he didn't deserve to be murdered.
Candace and her family haven't given up hope that Andra and Rah-ja's killers will be found. They work tirelessly to put up posters and follow-up on leads, always hoping that the next clue will be the one that brings them closure.
Ever since 11-19-03, my life has stopped. I haven't even went back to work yet because I spend my every moment either hanging up crimestopper posters or trying to find a clue... Everyday has become a constant struggle. Andra was my world, my everything! I feel like someone yanked the life out of me, and I just can't breathe without Andra.
I know that someone can help us bring the person responsible for these unsolved homicides to justice. I need answers |
