A Childhood of Sexual and Physical Abuse |

Even as children, the bond between sisters can be a strong one. There is an urge to protect each other from the cruelty of the world, or even the cruelty of their parents.
It is not certain how many children Charles Leon Parker had, but when he remarried for the third time in 1979, he became a stepfather to two little girls. They were just 9- and 6-years-old and cops say Parker didn't wait to discipline them with violence and hard labor. Officials say Parker relied on intimidation and abuse to manipulate the girls into doing what he wanted.
The oldest, who we'll call Sarah, often took the brunt of his temper, so that her little sister would be safe. He allegedly would make the girls cleanup the back yard, forcing them to use their bare hands to pick up dog waste. In the winter, chores became even crueler. Cops say Parker often made the girls carry in wood from outside in freezing temperatures and didn't allow them to wear shoes, socks or coats.
Once Sarah was making him pancakes and they didn't turn out how Parker liked them. According to officials, he stuck the hot pan to her arm, which left a scar that Sarah still has today. |

One Horrible Day In November |

But cops say the physical abuse got worse and soon Parker began to sexually abuse Sarah. Parker allegedly would take her to secluded places to fondle her and when she would struggle he would punish her with chores.
If the three were driving somewhere and her younger sister had to go to the bathroom, cops say that Parker would only let her go if Sarah would allow him to fondle her. Also, officials say that Parker would threaten Sarah that if she told anyone what he had been doing, that she would never see her sister again and that her mother would die.
Still, according to authorities, the most horrible day of abuse came in Nov. 1982. Parker made Sarah stay home from school and the little girl knew to expect the worst. While Parker dropped off her mother and sister, Sarah put on all the clothes she could find and hid in the back of a closet, hoping to escape him. But cops say Parker was even more enraged when he couldn't find her and this time he raped her to the point of causing internal injury. As she struggled, authorities say he beat her until she was in and out of consciousness. |

Years On The Run |

Sarah finally told her school counselor and Parker was arrested. Cops say after he posted bail, Parker went on the run.
Police say Parker moved in with a woman in Burleson, Texas right after going on the run. Allegedly, Parker lived with this woman until just before Thanksgiving. Cops say while the woman he was living with went to work, Parker stole her dead husband's social security card, credit cards, guns, and identity. The deceased man's credit card was used to purchase a U-Haul truck, but other than that, Parker vanished. Marshals have reason to believe Parker may have ties to Colorado.
