Man Charged In Connection With Disappearance Of 12-Year-Old Girl |

Authorities in Tennessee have charged 37-year-old Seth Lee Mitchell in connection with the disappearance of 12-year-old Ashley Bushue who was last seen March 3, 2006. According to officials, Ashley checked out of school early on Friday, March 3, 2006 and was released to 37-year-old Seth Lee Mitchell. Authorities say Mitchell was not on the girl's emergency card, which lists all adults who can take a child out of school.
Mitchell is the boyfriend of Ashley's aunt and police believe the pair may be headed to Virginia. The two are believed to be traveling in a 1995 white Dodge Caravan with Tennessee license plate SZU446.
On March 6, 2006, authorities charged Mitchell with aggravated kidnapping. Ashley is described as a white female with brown hair and brown eyes. She is 4 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs 110 pounds. Ashley was last seen wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans and black sneakers. Mitchell is described as a black man, 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 210 pounds.
Authorities say they don't believe Ashley was taken against her will, but Mitchell did not have permission to check her out of school. |
