12-Year-Old Tennessee Girl Missing, Man Charged |

Police in Tennessee are searching for 12-year-old Ashley Bushue who was last seen on March 3, 2006. According to officials, Ashley checked out of school early on Friday, March 3, 2006 and was released to 37-year-old Seth Lee Mitchell. Authorities say Mitchell was not on the girl's emergency card, which lists all adults who can take a child out of school.
Mitchell is the boyfriend of Ashley's aunt and police believe the pair may be headed to Virginia. The two are believed to be traveling in a 1995 white Dodge Caravan with Tennessee license plate SZU446.
On March 6, 2006, authorities charged Mitchell with aggravated kidnapping. Ashley is described as a white female with brown hair and brown eyes. She is 4 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs 110 pounds. Ashley was last seen wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans and black sneakers. Mitchell is described as a black man, 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 210 pounds.
Authorities say they don't believe Ashley was taken against her will, but Mitchell did not have permission to check her out of school. |
