Cops: Guest Betrays Hosts' Trust |

Visiting grandparents is something that almost every grandchild looks forward to. And that's how it was for an 11-year-old girl who was staying with her grandparents at their house in Orient, a rural town in Ohio. But what she didn't know is that her visit would become one of the most horrible experiences in her life.
The grandparents had another guest at the house -- David Longberry, who at that time was living with the couple. Police say on July 12, 1999, a brazen Longberry raped the little girl in the living room, while his hosts were at the house. The victim told her grandfather about the crime, but after the grandfather confronted Longberry, Longberry left the house without his belongings and never returned. He has not been seen since.

Longberry was charged with Forcible Rape of An 11-year-old Child. After years of searching with no luck, in June 2005, a phone call revived police hopes to arrest Longberry. They now say Longberry may be working as an over-the-road truck driver --he may be sleeping in his truck, he may not have a stable residence and he may be frequenting truck stops. Police also believe that Longberry rides a motorcycle. |
