My Story--By Larry And Grace Warner |
|
| |
Dawn Warner, 30, was a real people person. She loved spending time with her twin brother, Daniel. Dawn got along with everyone and anyone in our small town of Southfield, Mich., because she was so carefree and happy. She was more than generous to a fault and this drew the leeches of the street to her. She had no discrimination or defense against these kinds of people. Dawn would say that "you are supposed to accept people for who they are and help them with their comforts."
We think that Dawn was no different than any young person today. She was home schooled and was an exceptional student. But her desire was more to socialize than to go to school. She thought the world was her adventure closet and did not fear anything. |

Family And Friends Fear The Worst |

After graduating from high school, Dawn obtained a two-year degree from the Academy of Court Recorders. She began working as legal secretary for an accounting firm and enjoyed her time there. Dawn was dedicated to her job and loved the people she worked with.
On Monday, April 25, 2005 Dawn's co-workers became concerned when she did not show up for work. It was unlike Dawn to miss work, or not call if she was running late. Dawn's parents also found this behavior unusual.
We were worried because we had not seen or spoken to Dawn since Friday. We made several attempts to call her cell phone and home number but there was no answer. The owner of her Southfield Apartment Complex agreed to check on her safety for us.
The police accompanied the owner of the apartment building on 27200 Franklin Road in Southfield, Mich. to open the door to Dawn's apartment. Upon entering, they found Dawn's body laying face down on the ground with a blanket covering her near the dining room area. Police say she had several stab wounds on one of her hands and on the back of her body. The police do not have an exact date of death but it was apparent that Dawn's body had been left there for at least a day before she was discovered.

A Team Of People Search For A Murderer |

The local news station received notice of the murder and reported Dawn's 2004 Red Ford Ranger missing. They pleaded to anyone who may have seen the vehicle with the license plate that read LGLLIZ to report it to the local authorities. The vehicle was found by a viewer on 25291 Telegraph Road after spotting it near a shopping mall.
The keys to the vehicle were still in the ignition and the doors were left unlocked. Police say they immediately went on the chase with their bloodhounds to sniff the killer's tracks. They followed the trail 10 miles from where the car was parked until the trail ended at the southwest side of the river in Southfield, Mich. No further information regarding the killer's whereabouts has been uncovered.
We still have no answers as to who killed our daughter. All we know is that her tendency to help strangers could have been the reason for her death. We need your help to give us any clue that could lead to the arrest of her killer. |
